Anxious wait continues in Kiev – World News

Anxious waiting continues in Kiev

On the 10th day of Russia’s attacks on Ukraine, anxious waiting continues in Kiev. Show News editor Cem Tekel conveyed the latest situation in Kiev:

Despite the Russian attacks, I am talking about 4-5 kilometers above the north of Kiev. The evacuation process proceeded at great speed. The Ukrainian army destroyed a bridge so that the Russian tanks would not come. Tens of thousands of civilians were trapped in that area. They’ve all been removed from that area as of this morning. Wooden roads were built on the bridge. The elderly and the disabled were carried on laps, on stretchers, through those wooden paths. Those who found a vehicle proceeded to the vehicles, and those who could not, proceeded to Kiev. The train can’t use it right now because the rails were bombed. Civilians advanced on the 7-kilometer forest road to Kiev.

RUSSIAN ATTACK IS EXPECTED TODAY OR TOMORROW MORNING

The current concern north of Kiev has been evacuated. It’s the first place to be targeted if there’s an attack attempt. Ukrainian soldiers said, ‘We have evacuated this place, the Russians can take action from tomorrow morning, we expect a big Russian attack’. From now on, Kyiv will perhaps wait for a possible Russian invasion tonight.

There is a very chaotic environment. Black smoke was rising from the buildings next to us. One kilometer away, civilians were trying to cross the bridge in front of us and reach Kiev. What is said is different, what is received is different, it is very difficult to implement what is said in the field. Ukrainian soldiers had air defense missiles on their shoulders.

In front of the bridge, boats stood ready against the tanks. They tried to evacuate civilians in this tense environment. Almost all of them had passed. Now they say the big attack could happen after tonight, maybe tomorrow.
