Author wishes fewer father problems in the new game

Author Rhianna Pratchett wishes Lara Croft would address fewer father issues in the new Tomb Raider.
Crystal Dynamics has already officially announced that with the Unreal Engine 5 they are working on a new Tomb Raider game is working.
Now author Rhianna Pratchett is in charge of writing Tomb Raider (2013) and its sequel Rise of the Tomb Raider is known to have responded to the recent announcement.
Speaking to Eurogamer at the BAFTAs, Rhianna Pratchett first confirmed that she’s not working on the new game. She said she wishes Lara Croft had fewer “dad issues” in the next game.
“We had a lot of fun developing her character, so I’d like to see less dad issues,” she said. “And that’s from me!”
She continued, “I’d love to see her make her own path and genuinely enjoy what she does. Because when we were writing the reboot game, she was really on her way to becoming a Tomb Raider. So she was kind of a proto-tomb raider. And all the traits you associate with Tomb Raider, like tenacity, bravery, resourcefulness, kind of bubbled up on her.”
“I want to live it to the fullest, I want to see the cheeky lines and things I wish I’d written. But, you know, she wasn’t there yet, she didn’t have the confidence yet.”
“I think the trilogy has been very well received by fans, so it will be exciting to see what they do next.”
