Battlefield 2042: The number of simultaneous players on Steam drops below the 1000 mark for the first time

Players are slowly becoming interested Battlefield 2042 to dwindle – at least when it comes to concurrent player counts on Steam.

This morning DICE’s Battleifield 2042 broke the 1000 player mark for the first time. In a thread on Resetera, there is talk of only 979 simultaneous players. And that’s on top of the scathingly bad reviews on the platform.

That’s a joke compared to Battlefield 5, as the game peaked at 20,913 concurrent players in the same 24-hour period – and the title is from 2018.

So for a new game, Battlefield 2042 comes off really bad. This is mainly due to the poor delivery condition and other defects that EA has to the pandemic and the almost simultaneous release of Halo Infinite pushes.
