Four new maps leaked, possible Operation Locker remake

from Sarah Petzold
As the developers of Battlefield 2042 continue to work on the shooter’s various problems, a new leak gives a glimpse of the shooter’s future. A data miner discovered a total of four new maps that are currently in the works for the shooter.

Even if DICE and EA are still trying to limit the damage many weeks after the release of Battlefield 2042, one thing is certain: at some point the shooter will also get a major update with real new content. This new content could include four additional maps discovered by dataminer Temporyal as part of a game data leak.

Popular infantry card could be making a comeback

The data Temporyal crawled includes four new maps for Battlefield 2042filed with the names “Ridge” (final name: “Exposure”), “Drained”, “Lights Out” and “Docklands”. Exposure has appeared in previous leaks and is said to be set in the Canadian mountains. Among other things, players should be able to visit a secret research station here.

Dock Lands, on the other hand, is apparently a map for the Portal game mode. In this context, dataminer Temporyal considers a remake of the Port Valdez or Panama Canal maps from Battlefield Bad Company 2 to be possible. For the new map, working title Drained, Temporyal has spotted artwork depicting a harsh desert landscape with a dried-up watercourse in it. This map could be intended for the Conquest and Breakthrough game modes.

In Lights Out we will probably be able to visit one or more barracks or some kind of prison. The Battlefield-Inside editors believe it is possible that Lights Out could be a remake of the popular Battlefield 4 map Operation Locker. With this, the developers would finally bring a card designed purely for infantry combat into play.

However, the developers have not yet officially commented on the leaks. So whether the four cards are just concepts or discarded ideas, or whether they will actually find their way into the final game, we’ll have to wait and see. We’re staying tuned in and will let you know as soon as we know more.
