Ukraine’s Kharkiv Mayor, Igor Terehov, said in a statement on social media that his alleged statements that the city would be handed over to the invaders within 72 hours did not reflect the truth.
“SOLDIERS SHOW STRONG RESISTANCE”
Stating that the soldiers in the city showed a fierce resistance against the Russian army, Terehov said that the enemy lost soldiers and equipment.
Terehov emphasized that the people of the city are going through hard times, the municipal services are working under constant attacks, the houses and the city infrastructure were destroyed as a result of the attacks of the enemy, and nevertheless, the municipal services are working non-stop to supply the people of the city with heat, hot water, gas and electricity.
In the statement made by the Kharkiv Municipality Press Service, it was recorded that 188 people, including 5 children and 122 civilians, lost their lives in the bombardments and clashes organized in Kharkiv. In the statement, it was emphasized that 394 people, including 290 civilians, were injured in the attacks.
