According to Ukraine, another mass grave with civilians has been found near Kyiv. Meanwhile, the fighting is shifting further and further to the east of the country. Russian attacks were reported from the Donetsk region and Kharkiv.
Dozens of civilian bodies were found west of Kyiv after Russian troops withdrew. “Today we found dead civilians in a pit near the gas station in Busova,” community leader Taras Didych told Ukrainian television.
On the road between Kyiv and Zhytomyr to the west, about 15 kilometers from Kyiv, more bodies were found in a dozen cars that had been shot at. On the main route from the capital to the west, the Russian troops were stopped and pushed back by Ukrainian units in the first days of the war.
After the withdrawal of Russian troops from northern Ukraine, mass graves are found in more and more places. The active struggles are shifting further and further to the east of the country and are increasing in intensity.
Both sides report successful attacks
The Russian Defense Ministry said it had destroyed numerous Ukrainian military facilities with heavy rocket attacks. A spokesman said 86 objects were hit within one day. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the headquarters and base of a Ukrainian battalion were hit, and the object is said to have served as a staging area for mercenaries. In the region around Kharkiv, air defense positions, drones and ammunition and fuel depots were destroyed.
Ukrainian forces, for their part, killed 80 soldiers and destroyed three tanks and one airplane and one helicopter each in three attacks on Russian troops yesterday. None of this information can be independently verified.

fights in the east
The Ukrainian authorities reported that settlements had been shelled around Kharkiv, killing at least two people. Many houses were destroyed.
According to Ukrainian sources, at least five civilians were killed and five others injured in Russian attacks in the Donetsk region.
The governor of the neighboring region of Luhansk, Serhiy Hajday, has accused the Russian troops of indiscriminately shelling with all available weapons. “Heavy artillery, including 152 millimeters. Mortars of all calibers, multiple rocket launchers, rockets, air force. It’s just horrible,” he said in an interview with the online newspaper Ukrayinska Pravda. This information can hardly be verified independently at the moment.
All hospitals in the area were shot at. Only the Lysychansk and Severodonetsk facilities are currently in operation. “Even with roofs gone through, even with holes in the walls, they keep working,” he said.

Focus of hostilities in eastern Ukraine
Moscow recently announced that it would focus combat operations on eastern Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi spoke of preparations “for an important – some say the decisive – battle in the east of our country.” He confirmed Russian troop concentrations in the region. “A large number of troops, technology and weapons. Armed people who want to occupy another part of our country,” said Zelenskyy. It’s going to be a tough battle.
According to its own statements, the US Department of Defense is also observingthat the Russian armed forces made efforts to rebuild their units with new material and soldiers. Pentagon spokesman John Kirby mentioned reports that the units were to be mobilized by mobilizing “tens of thousands of reservists”. According to a senior Pentagon official, Russia has already massed thousands of additional troops near the border with the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv.
