What can the WristChat app do?

Unfortunately, WhatsApp is not available as an app for the Apple Watch, which is no longer a problem. The WristChat app can now help here and we present it in today’s AppSalat.
WristChat is an Apple Watch only app and uses WhatsApp Web’s API to function. In order for chats to be displayed on the watch, you have to scan the QR code that appears on the watch with WhatsApp on the iPhone. The function can be found in the app settings under “Linked devices” – the whole thing works the same as logging in to the chat service on the desktop or on the web.
So does that mean that just because WristChat is based on WhatsApp Web, you’ll see a web interface? No, that is not the case here. The user interface is completely native, so the app is perfectly adapted to the Apple Watch.
How does WristChat work?
If you start WristChat after setting it up, you will be presented with a list of all your conversations and a small preview of the last message. Tapping on an entry will bring up an overview of the last few conversations, with two buttons for composing new messages in the conversation at the very bottom of the view.
The one on the left opens the input options integrated in watchOS, i.e. dictation and the swipe keyboard. The button on the right brings up the WristBoard app from the same developer, which reveals a full QWERTY keyboard. However, this can also be switched to QWERTZ, which is common in this country.
WristChat Pricing and Availability
WristChat and WristBoard are available in the App Store for EUR 2.99 each. Alternatively, there is also a bundle that only costs 3.99 euros.
